Does anyone have the GPS coordinates for the Montgomery Lake pictographs that are north of the lake overland? Portagekeeper and I are venturing into Poet's Chain this fall and would like to take a day trip to access them.

Any advice , coordinates or intel is greatly appreciated.

I don't have the coordinates, but Magicpaddler posted some photos of the area, so you might know what to look for. Hopefully the leaning log is still there.

Yes-I recall that and have sent MP a private email asking for any intel he might have. I agree-if the leaning deadfall is still there it would be helpful. Thanks for the response.

There is also an unusual picto on an island below a campsite.

I know of the picto on the island that has been referred to as the "fertility" pictograph. It also has been said that there are odd occurances at the campsite as a result of the proximity to the pictograph. We may stay at that site with the kitchen way up high as our staging area for the attempt to see the inland pictographs. If we don't stay there we probably will stay back on Shelley.

Are you sure that's JUST a "leaning deadfall"

they would be hard to miss. They are maybe a half hour walk from Montgomery. If you do somehow wander past, you'll be looking at a big round bowl…
