This article is mostly about bass in the Great Lakes but some of the information should apply to BW/Q.

My son Alex is mentioned. The article is based on his and another students research on Beaver Island.

That's a great article. I spent many a summers vacation on Beaver Island as a young teen. Back then you had limited access to island by Ferry from Charlevoix.

Being up there, I "thought" I was in the "wilderness" or at least compared to my suburban home.

Used to go to secluded beach areas who's names I've long forgotten and we'd catch smallies wading the rocky shoreline. Dad would clean them and we'd grill them up on shore.

What I wouldn't give to go back in time for a few days of that. Cool

When I dropped my son off at the cottage on Beaver Island, it was his first time away from home, other than college, and he looked so sad. He was having second thoughts about his work there. By the end of the summer, having spent most of his daylight hours on and in the waters around the islands, it became one of his most cherished experiences.
