OK, I'll stop now. Just wanted to demonstrate I too like the little dudes, even if my skill and my camera are a few tiers down the scale.

(plus I'm procrastinating on a writing project).

Yes, when it comes to photography, my enthrallment does extend to almost any bug (although those wormy things are harder for me to appreciate.   Wink)  I have always like this shot of a pine bark beetle.

I spent hours one time trying to snap shots of dragonflies in flight on the shore of Kawishiwi Lake.  It was borderline successful, but I probably deleted 300 images to get two.  And they aren't fabulous.  But it was fun.  I really, really like dragonflies!   Grin

I won't subject you to all of my butterfly photos.  Or my praying mantises and bumblebees.   This is enough.

I do the same. I've developed an aversion to having creatures suffer at my hands. Seriously.  I was a teenage pellet gun hunter and hated to see (up close) rabbits and squirrels suffer from my bad shots.

Same with fishing.  I've accidentally killed two very large pike when I couldn't get them to recover.  Call me a stupid softy but seeing fish dragged on a stringer gets to me now.  I go to shore and club them hard on the head with a rock before fileting. I don't even enjoy live beheadings.

Anyway, I'm loving the pics especially the close up bug ones.  Sweet centipede Kypaddler!  And Spartan2 I'm a big fan of your work as well.

If no one is around close enough to see me, I have been known to pick up quickly mummifying earthworms from a hot concrete or asphalt parking lot and relocate them to the nearest piece of dirt.  I am sure this is some sort of twisted penance for all of the Redworms I used as bait from the local feed store cob pile as a kid.
