It's February, so it's time we get the ball rolling on the Saturday night (March 12) dinner!

As you know from Old Salt's previous posts, we've booked a meeting room at the Country Inn and Suites in Monona. Our plan for Saturday night is to cater in from Smoky Jon's BBQ. It's the best barbecue in Madison, and they've won several awards. I heartily endorse them!! You can see their website here: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

We need to establish a number to decide what we'll order. We're looking at the "Pig Up And Go Catering Packs", if you check out their catering menu. As you can see, the choices are based on numbers.

We'd like to get a couple of different kind of meats, and sides, etc. Cost will again be determined by how many will be there, but we're thinking it will be $15 - $20 per person, depending. If that seems high, let us know and we'll consider alternatives.

Beverages will be a provided with an additional small donation to defray the costs. Old Salt is bringing soda, and I, of course will provide beer. (There's also a liquor store not far from the hotel if you'd like to bring in your own.)

We're looking at having the food in between 6:00 and 6:30. Old Salt will be giving a talk about fishing in Alaska from 5:00 - 6:00 and we'll eat after.

Please reply to this thread if you're planning on attending. We will stay in touch as details develop. It should be another fine, much more casual, evening than last year's! This should give us all a great opportunity to socialize.

We have a few new faces on QJ. If any of these are coming to Copia, this is a great opportunity to meet some of the regulars around here and make some new friends. 

I plan on being there for OS's fishing seminar and as good as that BBQ sounds, looks like I've got another commitment for dinner later on.
