5/24 - I Googled -mushroom red liquid- and came up with this.

I got no clue beyond it was not viscous.  I stuck a pine needle into it to satisfy my own curiosity.

Thanks db!  I've seen pictures like the ones in Wiki-p but never have seen that mushroom in BWCA or Q in real life.  Mushrooms ARE strange...YouTube has a number of interesting short vids on the amazing variety they come in. Smiley

Looks like it. I bought that rod probably 50 years ago and I agree it's a pretty shot. I makes my mouth water.
