The "Camp Art" was not our crew's handiwork.  We stumbled onto it at the waters edge on the backside of our campsite.  The odd thing is we had fished for 2 days directly in front of it without anyone noticing?

Very hard to build a self supporting arch without some sort of a internal form.   One of our crew theorized it looked much like the upside down shape and size of the tapered end of a canoe.

Just finished a few nights at the same campsite.  My kids were pretty impressed.  I, on the other hand, wanted to tear it down.   For some reason, the rock cairns, inuk's and log furniture really 'chap my ass' on Quetico. - (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links).

Mossback,

I believe I've stumbled upon this very same "art work."  I thought it was supposed to be an ultra-fancy "Inukshuk."  Anyway, I'm curious as to where you came across this one....

Today's POD makes it appear that the blue canoe is in danger of being swamped  Shocked
I hope it's just an illusion. Wink Grin Grin

It's a real nice site on the big island at the south end of North Bay.  There's a shelf maybe 3 feet up from the waterline.

This is my brother and his 16 year old son.   Their first time even camping.  Never slept in a tent before.  He was in a car accident two years before and has trouble with his back but wanted to experience Quetico with his boys.  I said we could base camp on Burke lake but he wanted to press on to North Bay.  Kudos to him for gutting it out.  His son Michael here really put in a lot of effort knowing his Dad was hurting.

Thanks ST. It would appear someone is taking advantage of someone but the reality is my brother needed to stretch his back. I'm trying to talk him into hammock sleeping bc he didn't do well in a tent.
