I would get one more clip in that fishes mouth so as to not lose it while dragging it behind you.   Grin

He was to join us for dinner.  So, I wasn’t taking any chances having been burned before with that style of stringer.   I had a ways to go until I got to a suitable carving rock.   Also there was danger of a tug-of-war with the resident snapper; needed to improve my chances of winning that because I was hungry!

Tee hee.  Seriously though, enjoying the familiar location of your current photos, Jimbo.

Stayed at that site in the Fall of 2015.
It gets a lot of use so after a summer it was in terrible shape. One of those sites that could use a "rest" for awhile.

Years back I stayed at the site directly across from it.
I wanted to stay there that trip too, but it was a bigger mess than this one.  Sad

I feel for you in today's POD Jimbo Tongue

Being in discomfort, it's hard to do even the little things like cutting wood in an ergonomic manner.

ST -

Hopefully that's all behind me now.  I'm 8 days post- full hip replacement surgery today.  I seem to be making large strides towards healing.  Might not even need that large camp chair anymore (though it was surprisingly light & we only had a few portages).

Good to hear Jimbo.
Nothing the matter with that oversized camp chair since you didn't have to portage much.

I have one like that I take car camping. Real nice around a late night campfire.

I have enjoyed being "taken along" on Jimbo's Quetico trip recently, and would encourage those of you who have photos from your adventures to submit them for the POD's.  On a cold winter morning in Michigan, it makes me smile to see a photo of sunshine on the rocks in the canoe country.  Just sayin'.   Smiley

And Jimbo, I hope your hip is healing well now.  I hope to be getting a "new hip" soon myself, after more than a year of arguing with, let's see. . .I think I am now up to three orthopedists (including the University of Michigan), two spine specialists, a pain clinic, a sports medicine specialist, and two physical therapists!. . .about the cause of my continuing groin and hip pain, which just gets more and more severe with every single step.  And I hope, soon, to be giving a positive report again like the one I read here recently from you.

Thoughts and prayers for your complete recovery, Jimbo, and for more photos next year from that next trip!
