Today's pic captures our efforts on a VERY hot August afternoon to remain cool & comfortable.  You will note the cup next to the gent in sunglasses, smoking his cigar.  He was sipping a fine Scotch.  I soon joined him (minus the cigar) but favored Maker's Mark.  Our whole crew was pretty-much doing the same thing, trying to escape the smothering heat.  We were camped on the island campsite at mid-lake on Rawn.  The camp is high on the island but there was no breeze that day.  Fortunately, we discovered a "crevice" cunning perpendicular to the southern shoreline of the island.  We believe there must be an under-lake spring of some sort right at that spot as water temps anywhere around that crevice were clearly a blessed 10 degrees cooler than the surrounding waters!

Jimbo's "Ying Dynasty" rules the summer.  The Yangs rule the winter.

Ying-Yang half-breeds own the rest of the year.

As we plummet well-below zero, again, this week, today's great pic seems altogether appropriate!  I keep telling myself I'm going to attempt a Yang-style vacation sometime.  The solitude, the sounds, the night sky... probably worth it to try the experience at least once.  At the very least, it would help me appreciate the Ying experience ever so much more (as in, "What the heck was I thinking when I agreed to dealing with 40-below AND absolute darkness for 14 hours at a stretch!").

Nice change-of-pace with these pics!

Jimbo-

You should have rented out your house for Super Bowl week and headed up north to enjoy a little Yang time!  Smiley

Hmmm... would have been easy, too, as my wife will be "out-of-town" all week.

As soon as she discovered it, however, she would have planted her right boot right up my ying-yang!  Bottom line: I don't need the proctologist bills!

Looks like quiet solitude at it's finest.  I can almost hear the snow crunching.

So am I.  I have never been up there in the cold and snow, and it is just so beautiful!   Smiley
