Yeah, there's nothing like the blueberries up there. The first week in august in 2015 had me picking berries for hours at a site on North Bay.  One of the best memories was when me and my 13 year old nephew spent time picking and chatting away while the other guys went fishing.

Not that it matters, but it’s been 2018 for a while now. Wink

Portage Dog,

You get points for the most tightly stretched rainfly I have ever seen. Not a wrinkle in it anywhere.  My tarp setups always look more like a parachute being deployed.

But this is where my ignorance will show, is there a hammock up in the peak or is this just a tarp for some non-tent shelter?  If so, how do you get under it without being on your hands and knees?  I am sure being close to the ground keeps the weather out, but access looks difficult.  Maybe just due to my arthritis and gray hair?

That tarp appears to have side wings like a Dry-Fly but not as big or is it just rigged to look like it?

It also looks like it has a pronounced awning on the fireside too.?

You probably can’t see it, but that’s how he covers the picnic table he and his scouts just built.  Wink

Not a complaint, man. Anyone that puts up with this crew for 19 years, Shocked deserves at least 20 without parole. We appreciate you, db! Cool Cool

Thanks MB!  The other side looks like hell! Cheesy  No hammock, this is Crazy Creek Sil-nylon rain tarp I've had for probably over 10 years.  ST, it does have gabled(?) ends, but they're not very big, as you observed.  It is rather low...because of the ends, you cannot run a ridge line under it and when you pull it tight, it has a tendency to pull the whole thing down.  It also keeps the bugs off the food on the picnic table....and people too for that matter.  I think this one may have been a hurry situation due to rain.  I do try to get it a bit higher up so the old farts can get under it too.  Grin  There is no awning, just a rectangular (save the ends...) 8x10.  I don't really use it anymore because of the small size and dark color - was the best I could come up with at that time.  I've since gotten an ultra light CCS 10x14 in white.  That light color lets in a lot more light, which you want when it's dreary and it reflects lantern light a lot more when dark out for better lighting.

Today's pic of the Sturgeon camp - is that the one on the south shore of the western main basin?  If so, is on my bucket list.  Looks like a very cool place.
