Apologies for my delay in replying.  I was out of town and on the road last week.

Yes, that is the top of Louisa Falls.  I doubt there are many places in the park where you can see that much of a point spread in water altitude.  That day was blistering hot and the bathtub was empty midday when we arrived. Our timing was perfect for once.

Portage Dog, I assume you are referring to my old Mohawk paddle. I still have them and they never let me down even under some abuse that I should be ashamed of.  I still wonder sometimes why I moved to wood paddles?

Thanks to everyone for their kind compliments on the photos.

Regards,

MossBack

Hey MB,

The paddle on 3/25...on the left adjacent to your map...looks a whole lot like my Bending Branches Sun Shadow 14 bent shaft.  The Werner Algonquin showed up in the mail yesterday - almost floated out of the box...eager to give it a paddle.  Now where was that Spiderman portage at...aka the Wall? The 'tub' is great on a hot day...good timing...just watch out for the tiny little leeches...there were a bunch of them less than 1/2" long on a few of us.

PD,
If I were capable of counting backward from 31 to 25 (days) I would not have given you such a goof answer.

Yes, you are correct, that is a BB Sun Shadow 14.  Still have it, but I cannot claim I have ever warmed up to bent shafts. I have always used particularly long paddles and the Sun Shadow at 54" feels odd. Had a look at your new Werner.  Mighty high tech and weighs nothing.

The Spiderman portage/Wall continues to be a bit of a mystery.  I took the photo and I believe it was a spot where a stream was flowing through the V bottom of that wall.  I asked the other 3 gents who were along on the trip and they did not remember it.

The trip was Darky, Brent, McIntyre, Sarah, in the North end of North Bay and out through PP.  I believe it was somewhere near Sarah.

An body else recognize it?

Regards,

Considering your route my guess is it is the outflow from Isabella lake. The portage would be on the right side of the creek behind the photographer.

Another beautiful shot today.  I always wish there were a caption telling the location of the photo, though.

Thanks for the lovely way to start my morning, gazing at that image.

Thanks for all of the nice comments guys. The sunset pics were all taken from a midlake island on Pickeral Lake last June, and the moose was in the Dieux Rivieres (same trip, same day in fact!). Will put more pics in.
