If you haven't, you should do the Badwater Portage sometime. SOME say there ARE things you don't want to see there.  Shocked Wink Grin Grin [/quote]

I have to ask, what is the story with Badwater Portage?   Just tweaking another QJ member about some previous event??

I was considering going to that section of the park this year.

Jimbo will undoubtedly respond to this as he is the
go-to guy for unexplained phenomena in the park.  Wink Grin
If you're going into Badwater, do a search in Badwater/Badwater portage by ALL members.
The portage is long BUT relatively flat. Been thru 2x, once in rain/once dry. At beginning of the trip and at the end with a light food pack.

It's NOT as bad as some say and if you ever do the Yeh portage you understand what I mean.

If you decide on a route, PM me, I can give you some more info.

Sorry to see this last group of POD's end.  The recent misty morning shots were so nice!

Woah.  I never will have a fire after complete darkness on my solos.  Too damn spooky for me.  I don't mind sitting in the dark listening to the sounds but having a fire makes me think I might be hearing things that really aren't there.  Undecided

I love sitting by the fire at night. If it's clear, I'll normally wait for northern lights until it's good and dark before I put the fire out and give it a little more time while laying on the thermarest in an open spot near the shore.

Spooky is waking up after dosing off and having to walk a ways on an overgrown path to get to the tent. It's amazing how much comfort and security two thin sheets of nylon provide the mind.

It does look like Pickerel now that you mention it. It's on Rawn though. In the olden days that site had a fair weather fireplace and a protected cooking fireplace. They were both gone without a trace last I was there but this one is nice too.
