This was 2007.  I didn't start bringing dogs until 2013.

Nice campsite spread.

It's strange seeing how I tripped 9 years ago.  This was Polly Lake 2008. I base camped on Malberg that year.  That's when I realized I don't like base camping.

Clever man alert.  😅😅

It’s funny the creatures you make friends with on a solo. I had this mouse and a chipmunk keeping me company when I ate.

Not uncommon.  I remember a trip report made by ST where he had a big rabbit keeping him company.

I find myself wanting to say that it was 6 feet tall, very white, wore a hat, and its name was "Harvey" but I may be getting my trip reports mixed up.

Later,

There was indeed a HARE, I named him ART but the size/hat and name must be you mixing my reports with PJ's JUG  fueled ones.  Wink Grin Grin

I like my rodents to be useful. They make great pot scrubbers and will work for peanuts.  Wink Grin Grin

The narrow channel picture today reminds me of a) that channel the leads from the put-in to Lake One in BWCA, b) that channel that leads from the short portage with the impossible tarn-and-hole put-in and short portage to Smye Lake in Wabakami or c) that channel from Cache to Silver falls (sort-of). Lovely shot wherever it is!
