Thanks DD- way cheaper than busting up the cute maple leaf shaped candies. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I'm going to use this instead of brown sugar for my Q trip morning staple of steel cut oats and polenta with dried cherries.

Well done sir!

That does look like a nice product to put in my hot oat cereal but I gotta do the real deal for pancakes. I'll fill a little squeeze bottle and put it in a zip lock. [url] (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

A little known bonus in the product description.  "This grade pairs well with smoky and spicy flavors like chipotle peppers, sriracha, or bourbon."  Smiley Smiley Smiley

I'm all in on the pure maple syrup too.  You guys gotta get a food sealer.  I make up my own syrup packet, sized to the group for each meal that requires it.  Just put the pouch in an extra cup, clip one corner and use the cup to pour.  Occasionally I pack more than the group uses and end up doing a maple syrup shooter.  Cheesy - quick energy!  The food sealer bag goes in the trash kit.  Those maple candies make great after dinner treats paired with a nice bourbon, single malt or even better, a top shelf rum (made from sugar after all....).  One more breakfast to try - wild rice as a hot cereal with maple syrup on it.  Toss in some dried cranberries and chopped pecans - awesome stuff!  I use Haddon House Instant Wild Rice, comes pre-cooked and takes just a few minutes to recook it.

That’s one way to get your socks clean and make coffee at the same time! Got to admire ingenuity.

ONLY if your partial to wearing Granny Knee-high socks?  Wink Grin Grin

That's a camp-day coffee batch brewing in the nylon filter bag.

On travel days, I fill my 2 cup insulated travel mug with hot water and a sock with ground coffee for however strong I want it. It goes with me as I start out.

At night when I build a fire, I burn the grounds. rinse the sock and hang it under Dry-Fly to dry overnight. I prefer this method to all the other's I've tried.

Socks?!?  Geez... what a relief!

At first glance, I thought it was a chamber pot....

I was hearing a wee tune being played on the pipes as a barrel-chested Scotsman prepared his morning haggis and announcing with a booming voice, “Aye, what a glorious day” as his thick brogue trickled through his scattering of teeth and over his craggy lips.

Naw, a REAL MAN just picks up a dab of moist grounds and places it between cheek and gums; then strains the liquid between his teeth!
