My Old Quetico Map

I unearthed my old Quetico map recently, haven't looked at it in years. It shows most, but not all of the lakes I've tripped through and some of the campsites.
Looking at the map now I can remember many of the lakes, but for some I have zero recollection. Memory is a funny thing after more than 20 years.  Smiley

Anyhow, I thought you guys might get a kick out of it.

My original Q map was so worn and faded that I just got rid of it. Funny how the memory works. I NEVER forget a face, but names Embarrassed

IF you haven't been in the park for years, you "might" want to get a CHRISMAR ADVENTURE map of the Q.

Lot's of people here use it as a back-up/reference map when their navigation map of choice is wrong portage wise?

The latest Chrismar is from 2015 and has ALL the new portages and in my experience, IF it differs with your navigation map, the Chrismar is the right one

Can save you a lot of time and energy looking in the wrong spot.  Tongue

ST is correct.  The accuracy of the Chrismar maps is exceptional, and they are great folks to deal with.  Years ago I never imagined I would return to the Quetico so many times, so I didn't bother to record details of my trips.  I managed a source a couple of unfolded Chrismar maps.  One hangs in my garage for wintertime daydreaming, the other now has been dotted with as much information as I could piece together from my box of old Q permits and such.  Figured I needed to do that before my memory went completely to hell.  I still marvel at members here who can look at a posted photo of what appear to be just more pine trees and rocks and know exactly where it is?  Amazing.

Thanks fellas, I ordered a Chrismar map a couple weeks ago. That's what prompted me to find my old blurry map, I was hoping to transfer some of my ancient info onto it. Problem is most of the info is as outdated as I am.  Wink

When I met ST in May of 2015, his Chrismar map saved me a lot of time in 2015 and will continue to save me time in the future.  I have a Quetico map from 1974 which is still in good shape.  The whole park is on one map so the details were are not that good.
