Don't have a scanner, so these are just photos of old photos. The quality isn't great, but interesting nonetheless.

A nice lake trout caught jigging in Sark Lake in Quetico and lounging by the campfire later that day.

A look upstream on the Allanwater River in Wabakimi at a forest fire I paddled through. Then a shot of the south shore of Wabakimi Lake from my campsite as I watched the fire reach the south shore.
At one point on the Allanwater both sides of the river were burning and I reached a point where I couldn't line my boat and had to portage. I remember putting on long pants, shirt and gloves then jumping into the river to soak myself down. I literally ran across that portage jumping over burning logs for over 1km while carrying my pack and canoe. The canoe protected my upper body, but by the time I made it to the end of the portage the back of my gloves were singed brown from holding the canoe and the gel coat on my boat was starting to bubble and blister.

A sandy point on Triangular Lake on the Albany River where I camped. While there I walked way back through the brush for several hundred yards behind my camp and found an ancient missionary grave site with the date 1872 inscribed on it.

Late reply, thanks fellas! I've actually been up in Sioux Lookout the last little while ice fishing. FWIW I drove right past Quetico and there is virtually no snow on the ground. Just a thin skiff and glare ice on all the lakes. If I had to wager a guess I'd say early ice out and for sure low water this year!

I can only assume it was that old, but who knows?
