I have it under reliable advisement that fly-in trips to Quetico's interior are coming back in '21 after the border reopens.  Primary seaplane bases will be out of Atikokan, ON and the seaplane base in Ely on Shagawa near Semers Park.

The money I save on park permits should make a fly-in trip much more affordable.

With all the recent posts about aging, joint replacements, back fusions, etc it is apparent we all have tremendous respect for Wally13's fishing prowess, and his singularly obsessive pursuit of those elusive trophy walleye.  He's known to fish for hours and hours sometimes with only one arm, sore wrists, and probably a leg or two heavily wrapped in Ace bandages.  But have you heard of his really legendary talent?

Wally13 has been known to catch walleye from shore with no fishing gear at all, especially during full moonlight just after dusk.  You see, he is gifted with abnormally acute eyesight in the moonlight, like a big cat, and massive adrenaline surges.  He'll stalk the shallows along the shore, and when he sights his unsuspecting prey, he'll crouch low to the ground, fingers and hands twitching.  Then with unbelievable speed and agility, he'll leap high above the water, with full-throated growls like a grizzly, and pounce repeatedly, creating tremendous whitewater froth.  He'll leap 10 feet over and over chasing his prey, only stopping when he finally has in each fist a bloodied and healthy walleye, along with one or two more in his smiling jowls.

This is a true tale....I've seen it!!  Although, my eyes are not as good in the moonlight compared to Wally13....

I heard about this forthcoming plebescite in Minnesota where we are voting for or against annexation into Ontario, eh?  Betcha can guess my vote, eh?

Once I become a full-fledged Canuck, I'm gonna lobby to keep all you Covid-ridden, hockey puck, hose-heads away for a few more years, don't you know.  Better fishing that way, eh?

And once we're a bonafide province, I'm yanking out those pit toilets in what used to be called the BWCA, boys.  LOTS of changes coming!  That'll learn ya for making that Canadian Bacon movie all those years ago!

I've heard those exact noises you described!  I always thought it was a grizzly bear, a coupe of wolverines, my wife the troll and a pack of wolves having a fierce battle in the water.  It was the most hideous and haunting noise I've ever experienced.  The next morning when I investigated the area where the noise came from I found all these mangled walleye remains around the area.  Finally, the truth has emerged as to the source.

PD,

Alligators vs. Northern Pike, not much difference, eh?

Still, when MN gets annexed by Canada, I'll come back.

So, what are ya'll saying?  Do you mean that Bigfoot is more Wally13 size?  I did notice the edge of what appeared to be some tricked-out "snowshoes" protruding from his pack early one morning.

There's a strong rumor going around here that one of Matren's giant fish that towed him across several lakes and a few portages in Canada (headed south I assume) was spotted nearby in east central WI.  I am currently in pursuit of the beast and will post a progress report in the near future.  If you don't hear from me in a week or so, you will know my fate.

I didn't take the rumor too seriously until someone mentioned something about what they thought was a pink daredevil hanging out of the beast's mouth.  The rest of the guys in the bar just started laughing hysterically at the poor guy......but I took heed!  The truth is out there......
