I'm guessing that rock is on an island in Finger Lake of the BW.  If I'm right there is also a faint pictograph on it.

Hmmm... Finger Lake?  That’s not where I left this rock.  Someone must have moved it.

We have seen the one on Finger Lake.  Tried to stop at that campsite once, but it was occupied.  The rock was HUGE, and did look a lot like the one in the picture.

PD,

I should have figured it was YOU.  You were probably carrying a large cedar log in your OTHER hand while you portaged it there!

I do so miss my more youthful days of portaging when I was a mere lad, such as yourself.  My food pack is my limit these days!

Later,

Jimbo   Cool

Is today's POD on Quetico lk, the strip separating the main lake from West Bay?

Sure looks like it.

I'll give that one a go...looks like the sandspit on Sturgeon - south shore, main body of the lake.

And after reviewing some old pics from that very shore, I'm steak dinner certain that's Sturgeon....the tree lines are nearly identical.

Today's POD is the clincher...fire ring on the west side of the point to watch the setting sun.  I  got some great pics of the moon setting on the far shore while the sun was rising on the east side.  Most people don't realize there is a smaller camp/fire ring on the east side close to the main shore that is much better protected in case of foul weather.  Fortunately, when we were there it was beach weather.
