Nice start on your retirement home...

That's a very cool pic DB.  What's the story on this one with the moose?  How did you get so close?  If I had to guess I would say you crawled on your belly in full stalk mode.  Maybe you were wearing a ghillie suit?

Thanks. This was on a tiny island in Diversity Bay (north Sturgeon). You can usually get pretty close to any moose in a canoe and they calve on little islands so... I don't know, they can't see very well to begin with plus it's like they know you're not really a threat in a canoe. Her and the twins had nowhere to go anyway. It's a tiny island.

I probably even sat there for a while and had a smoke and just watched. Then I paddled upwind and drifted past a few times trying to get even closer trying for a better shot. After the third or fourth pass, she finally got tired of me hanging around and chased me away which was kinda cool too. I did not know the water was that shallow that far out. It wasn't threatening, more like a friendly enough already. Be on your way now annoying man.

I have to stop looking at db's time-lapse shots until I've had my first-morning coffee. My eye's, even the good one can't bring it all into focus.
