Generic Brand Spinner Baits

I'm a big fan of spinner baits. You can fish them fast/slow and at least in my experience, they will attract multiple fish species.

They also can be very expensive. About the cheapest, I've found is the BASS PRO brand. They run around $5 give or take based on weight/blades. I call them SEASONAL tackle because they don't hold up much more than that in hard use.

I came across these on Amazon. Less than $2 a piece. They are made in China probably BUT many name-brand lures are too except for some of the UBER expensive ones that can run $10 or more for one lure.

I looked them over and decided for the features they offer, even if the steel doesn't hold up to rusting, they were worth it even if the only lasted one season?

These are some of the nicest spinners I've ever used, as good or better than ones costing 4-5x more. Set #1 has Double Blades, set # 2 Single Blades, set option #3 is a JIG head spinner. I think I'll get a Jig Head set before my next Q trip.

They sell in packs of 6 or 12 so make sure you understand the pic they show is for the 12 piece set.

The steel seems to be of good quality so I hope they do hold up to rust? I will buy again even if they last only one season?

I'll bet the NP will like them a lot. They do where I fish. I don't target them but that flash and noise, if you rip them on the surface, seems to really get the local NP in a frenzy.

One nice thing about a single hook spinner is the design makes the wire act like a steel leader even when a toothy critter grabs it.

good find! one of my favorite lures is an amazon knockoff, the 'mizugiwa bulldawg.' its a spring dawg sized version of the popular musky innovations bulldawg. incredible pike lure. the gold and white ones are the best.

i use spinnerbaits a fair amount as well and there is one absolute MUST that spinnerbaits must have for me to even consider them. these have it. its the completely closed eye loop. i use duo-lock snaps on my leaders on my pike rods, and using a snap on a non-closed loop spinnerbait is incredibly frustrating with constant fouling.

im pretty partial to the 'northland' brand spinnerbait and they are under $3 each locally by me in stores regular price. i have a couple favorite spinnerbaits that have lasted me for many years and ive changed out the blade swivel to one with a bearing and the main blade is a UV madflash missing half the paint. the skirt had been replaced about a dozen times and the head is missing half the paint. it an ugly franken-lure, but it flat out catches fish.

When I first started using spinner baits I would get the kind with the open loop. As you mentioned they tangle ALL the time, even if you tie your line directly to the wire like some say you should. It's especially
bad with braid vs mono.

It was so bad I came up with a DIY fix for the open loop spinners I still have.  I got some clear plastic tubing like on a ice maker and cut a piece about 1/4 long and slid that on the wire open loop and then clip on my Duo-Lock snap/swivel. Not as good as a looped spinner but pretty close. Now I buy only the closed loop spinners.

Closed loop spinners for me too.  Pike dont often short strike and Ive found they like to hit the line just ahead of the spinner, so for most of my spinnerbait fishing I use closed loop spinners with a leader.  30lb titanium leaders are very thin and doesnt seem to spook the bass either.   Hate bite offs.  Especially hammer handle bite offs...
