That's a hell of a fish there Mike!
Sturgeon right?

Now THAT tells me I'm growing old.  I looked at today's POD TWICE earlier this morning BEFORE I read ST's comment here.  I did NOT even notice his fish, either time!  I thought, "Gee, what a neat family pic in winter.  Not really fishing or camping related, but a really cool pic, anyway." Ugh....

Man, I'm losing it.  Maybe I have a screw loose in my optic nerve.  Maybe I consumed too many stool softeners on past camping trips.  I begin to wonder, "What else am I missing that is right before my eyes?"

Nice sturgeon, MP!

The first time I looked at today's POD, I thought nice family photo.  The second time I noticed the b...b...big fish.  And I thought of the TV show, Wicked Tuna.

Ya know?  This could result in a pilot for a new show called Wicked Sturgeon or Wicked Laker or Wicked Musky....hardy souls drag their spouses, kids and gear to frozen lakes in sub-zero temps, drilling hole after hole as they chase monsters before the quoto runs out....it could work!!   Cheesy Cheesy

That IS a NICE fish. Looks very heavy.
Gotta say I've never heard anyone blame stool softeners for stuff like that and could not stop laughing...I'm stealing that one Jimbo  Smiley

From left to right.....Portage Monkey 2, The Troll (tall one), Portage Monkey 1, The Beast (see Liar's Club for more detail), me.   Seems every time they have a kid I get a sturgeon.  I told them they still have time to prepare for my success next year.  By their reaction it seems that they don't care if I ever get another one.  Selfish kids nowadays!

We always wear pants with one leg a different color than the other.  Doesn't everyone??

My greatest hope is that DD can read this nonsense and get a laugh out of it.

To you DD!  Thinking about you.......Mike

LMAO about Solo's comments about 72 yr. olds.  Even though three of four of us got fish already we still go out and sit just to see what we see.  With the heavy snow/lake conditions as such this year we travel together on the way out and in on the lake. The 3/4 ton (with chains on this year) goes first followed by the "lesser" trucks and my Jeep.  Anyway, today while we were gathering up my b in law saunters over and said he forgot his cell phone.  Fast forward six hours and he saunters over again and tells me he found his phone but lost his keys Grin Grin. We only drowned one I Phone this year but it was time for an upgrade anyway.  The guys wife said the next time it happens to him he's going back to a flip phone. We've come to the realization that our only purpose going forward is just helping each other out.  Only two of the four of us can handle the big boy chain saws anymore Cry   PM 1 and PM 2 better start eating their spinach!

I lugged the beast into the house and flopped it on the counter.  Too cold in the garage and I figured that's what heated houses were intended for.  Unfortunately I dropped it on the kitchen floor when attempting to lift it on the countertop Undecided  Fortunately I was able to clean up the floor before my supervisor came home Roll Eyes  She didn't bat an eyelash when she saw what I was doing other than rolling her eyes and mumbling something like "now what's the knucklehead doing"?  I guess she's just gotten used to me dancing to a different tune  Wink.

Full disclosure.  The one on the counter is not the one in the family pic.  The one that I got in the family pic was 55 inches/41lbs. The one on the counter was 69 inches/79 lbs. speared by my brother.
