Yes, I was imagining myself sitting there with my camera at the ready, and drinking my morning hot chocolate.  Peaceful, indeed.

Beautiful!   Smiley

I think this is the McIntyre camp on the north point that separates the main bay from the western part of the lake that holds the creek route to Robinson and the southern route to Ted. A very fine camp!

Correct, Solus, if you're thinking Campsite LH, on western shoreline of main McIntyre, directly east and a hair south of that little waterfall pouring into that western bay from the no-name....makes for quite the lift up from the water if heading to Ted.  Love this little campsite--stayed here 3 times--warming sunrises, protected from big westerly winds, a really soft tent pad next to the lake under a massive white pine.  Oh, and there's a nice little message cache a couple hundred yards into the trees behind camp.

I love that camp as well. You can wander the bedrock and forest between bays (rudimentary camp exists on the bay facing the little falls). The sloping rock points and islands towards McIntyre Creek are beautiful and offer great viewing platforms for the packs of trout that roam the shoreline just after ice out(as well as easy pine knot pickings from drift in the final stages of decay). Nice fire. A pair of great tent sites (one beneath the pines and one tucked a little further into the woods). Incredible blueberries in the soil patches in the great bedrock platforms that stretch south to the narrows.

I am struck by the develishly beady red eyes in that varmint featured in today's POD. Walk softly and carry a BIG stick around camp to ward that one off.

Look closely.  Magnify the image of the little beast.  Keep magnifying it.  You'll see your image clearly reflected on his irises, saliva on his lips, and just the hint of a sadistic smile.

THAT one is gunning for you, PK....

One year on a couple's trip, my GF and I decided to stay in camp while the other two couples went on day trips. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day...

One couple took all their day food with them, the other asked us to watch theirs. We said no. We might be busy. Hang it with the rest of the group food. They said nah, it would probably be fine. It wasn't.

I heard the squirrel start chewing. I could even see it but hey, not my problem. We did eventually scare the squirrel off but not before the little bugger chewed a big hole in the top/side/corner of a Rubbermaid box at the exact spot the GORP was. They have serious teeth and apparently a good sense of smell as well.

And no, we never felt guilty about it.
