Today's POD is very serene looking. Dead calm, just gliding along close to shore taking it all in!  Smiley

All the pictures I sent were snapped by the two young ladies I take on my trips. My deal with them is, I carry the canoe, you take a crap load of pictures! They do an awesome job.

Pretty sure that's a fossilized shark we're looking at.

TomT,

Technically speaking, it would be a Megalodon (Carcharocles megalodon).

It probably died, on the spot, when it smashed into that BIG ROCK in the middle of the lake.  Those megalodons were none too smart.

I've always been fascinated by glacial erratics.  One of the types that is most intriguing is like the one on McDougall Lake.  Just off shore in the southeast corner of the lake is a narrow slab of rock that is just at the waterline (sometimes below in high water times).  Atop this formation is perched a roundish rock that rests in an ever-so-slight depression.  A nudge of just an inch or two would likely place this large boulder in the drink.  Sometimes nature is just remarkable!

A pointy rock and a squarish rock.

db,

Today's campsite POD looks a bit like site 3Y, on Quetico Lake.  I think 3Y is a somewhat more elevated, however.  Still, it's possible, depending upon the angle you took it from.

I'm sure I'm wrong but these-type shots make for good guessing games!
