	Where I live the ice rarely gets good enough on the local lakes to even go on safely, never mind bringing all that gear. Is that a custom fish house? I've never seen one on a trailer frame like that. If you get a Sturgeon, do you smoke it? I've had smoked sturgeon it was excellent.

Speaking of chilly, we woke up to a Winter Wonderland this morning, as we got an inch or two of snow here last night. At least it didn't snow on us at Veron Lake. I've only had that happen a time or two and, I gotta tell you, it ain't much fun rolling out of a hammock, practically buck naked, to get dressed in a snow squall! I had that happen to me in May a few years back on Poohbah Lake. Yikes! Thanks for posting pics again so soon! When do you start pedaling across America??? Jimbo

	ST....I built the ice shanty. A local guy came up with the frame idea..brilliant! One person can pull the hitch portion down and the wheels then lift the shanty up. Yes I smoke the sturgeon and I agree it's pretty good. I previously posted a pic of one I got two years ago. My brother in law got a decent one this year. Btw....we had to hook up two 4 wheelers in tandem to pull the shacks off due to heavy snow. Surprised we didn't break something or get killed in the process! Jimbo....IF memory serves it got down to near freezing a few nights. Sleeping on the ground was a real character builder on that trip. I have since added a fleece bag liner to my gear. Still a great trip! Thanks again. Bike trip was supposed to start June 3 from Portland, Or. but may be in jeopardy. I need to resupply during the trip so it's imperative that stores, restaurants, campground and motels are open. Stay safe..........

	I love that DIY fish shanty/frame! It's amazing what people can build when they think outside the box. Jimbo, I'm not a hanger but I like to think of DIY ideas for all situations. You mentioned that mylar blanket on your pad to help reflect heat. You also mentioned getting an under quilt too. I get the underquilt if you're going in the shoulder seasons but how often would you really need it in the months you normally trip? I have a DIY idea that might be more practical. Take one of these, fold lengthwise and stitch up the ends leaving an opening to pull your hammock hanging straps thru. Might take 2 stitched together depending on hammock size? Would BLOCK the wind, keep skeeters out and REFLECT lost body heat back to you. Just a thought. You could even do it with a couple of those mylar space blankets if they're big enough and you could find a way to attach them together that would hold? 	I think the way to guarantee that Jimbo and MPeebles stay warm when they trip together is going this route. It is practical and will also lighten the gear load. They could even share a book together and make fun of Magicpaddler freezing his butt off while they stay toasty warm. (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links)
