Reminds me of the Wizard of OZ...…."Pay No Attention to the Man Behind The Curtain "    What are we hiding behind the brown tarp?

Is that a trusty Peak One into day's POD pj?

Yep.  Still use it from time to time.

Horizontal rain in Pickerel Narrows so I guess we were hiding behind it.  Memorable trip.  Some "I've never seen that before" moments.

Thanks.  I don't remember taking that one.  I'll have to go back and look.  My kids are much better with the cameral than I am.

PJ,

I that a container of GULP next to your fishfinder?

If so how do you compare it to live bait?
I think it's just as good but I don't use it that much either.
Quetico Dave tells me real minnows were better when still allowed?

I will swear by Gulp.  It may not out-fish live bait all the time but I have confounded several "old-timers" in our fishing league over the years by out-fishing them with Gulp but their pride just won't let them try it out (in front of me anyway).

Back in the day we would bring 20# bags of leeches into Quetico and drag them behind us in a leech locker - what a pain.  We spent more time baiting hooks than catching fish.  We would also seine minnows in the park (again, when it was legal to do so).

With Gulp, we catch a ton more fish and way less time loading jigs.  Of course the size and kind does matter.  I think there is a Gulp thread in the fishing forum if I recall?

+ 1 on the Gulp.  Cut bait also works wonders.

Stay safe......

I looked at today's POD of the fire for a while this morning.  I think there's something in our DNA that attracts us to campfires, water and woods.

Stay safe........

PJ.....Nice fish.   Do you target the pike or are those "accidents"?

Stay safe......
