Fun to see that picture again.  Woke up to a group trooping past my door not long after sunrise.  Usually don't camp in the trail but it was hard to find any flat spot on that hill as dusk was descending  Sad

Never camped on a real portage trail but did accidentally camp on a Moose travel trail on a river trip in Ontario before I became Solotripper.

Camped on a small island in the river right before some small rapids. We saw a trail of sorts at the put-in that ran across the island. About the only flat area to set-up our tents.

Late that night I hear some splashing and when I opened the tent door I see moose ankles and a cow moose and her two almost grown calves gingerly stepping around the dumb-asses camped on their portage trail.  Wink Grin Grin Grin

I'd take one peek outside and I'd be so far in my sleeping bag they'd have to use the jaws of life to remove me.

Stay safe.......

I have a few more I can send from our 1992 trip.  I'll try to get them done tomorrow morning.  Or maybe you were referring to the actual photo, not to being out of possibilities!   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Today's POD is a shot of a yakker that I took on Green Bay.  I had to zoom out to get the sunset part of pic in view.

Stay safe........

Today's POD is of me and my future portage monkey, now one year older.  My daughter gave birth to another future portage monkey two months ago.  She wouldn't let me take that one along.

Stay safe........

She, and her hubby for that matter, would not entertain my idea of naming them Woodland and Caribou, in that order.  Instead they gave them some stupid names like Ethan and Gavin.  I also happened to notice that neither were named Michael either.

Stay safe........

Kinda funny.  After I wrote it tounge in cheek I started thinking that Woodland seems more masculine and Caribou seems more feminine.  I actually kinda like Caribou.  It seems like a peaceful name for some reason.  I think Woodland is a not uncommon last name.

Boy, I need a life Cheesy

Today's POD really brings back some old school memories. I remember when men's shorts were ACTUALLY short, not below the knee pedal pushers.

I still wear those style shorts because they are so much cooler than those long baggy ones are.
