Lots of “old school” in that photo.  He is having his morning supply of TANG, we are cooking breakfast on the fire, and of course, shorts.   Since the transplant he must protect against skin cancer, so he hasn’t worn shorts or a short-sleeve shirt ever since 2009.  Retired that heavy army rain gear shortly afterwards, too, and got some GoreTex PacLites.

And time marches on.  It is hard for me to believe that that trip was 28 years ago.

Don't know why but I feel that shots like today's POD tell a nice story which is left to each of our imaginations.

Thanks and stay safe.........

Good photos today and yesterday, Spartan2. The exposure and composition are just perfect. Thanks.

Thank you.  I think db can take some credit for the exposure, since he has tweaked them a bit.  But I'll take it all for the composition!   Smiley Smiley

Back in 1992 I didn't have a great camera, and of course these are all photos from scanned prints.  On that trip I took a lot of photos, but the quality of the shots doesn't seem nearly like the current digital cameras can get.

Still, it was our best canoe trip of all.  22 days in the BWCA, a big number of moose sightings, many wonderful memories.

Nice to know that back in the day, you could have your food flown in and land it in the trees. Wink Grin

Thx, Spartan2.  It looks peaceful, but the wind this day was gusting to 30+ mph from the NW.  This campsite was luckily on the north shore with the photo looking to the SE.
