Beautifully composed shot today, and a lovely setting.   SO made me want to be there!

We are on the road now, having left our cabin at 9 AM today.  Always makes me sad to leave the canoe country.  Tried to stop at World’s Finest Donuts this morning but the line was clear around the corner, in the rain!!  No donut is that good!!

Today's POD = same campsite as yesterday, north (turtle-free) beach.

Happy memories at this site for Wally13, too, as he found a walleye hole nearby.

Sandy beach alright, and my initial impression was "north" beach.  However, upon further examination I decided it was some other location.  The first thing to draw my attention was the vertical wall to the left in this shot.  I don't remember this kind of structure to that side.  Also, the trail leading to the beach seems pretty broad.  The "north" beach trail at #150 was narrow and then opened up to the beach.

YMMV.

I'm glad you weighed in, DD, as I had to look this one over a bit.  I actually wondered about both of those things, too.  I'll have to check it a bit more carefully against some of the pics I have of that north beach.  IF db was to check the file label, l'm thinking it'll still show as Lady Boot Bay... but, yes, I could be wrong.

Later,

Jimbo -

I think today’s POD confirms this is not #150.  This pic seems to be a reverse angle shot.  The north beach at 150 is MUCH wider than this and does not have the exposed rock to the left in this shot.

None the less, it looks like a nice site.

DD,

Agreed.  It is the reverse-angle shot, probably somewhere further north on LLC.

If you look closely, you can just see a red squirrel in the background giving us all the middle paw.  Cheesy

DD,

Today's POD may well be the "north beach" at site #150.  It matches up pretty well with some shots I have of it from a slightly different angle.  Thoughts?

It's a beautiful picture.  Reminds me of a site we had on Kawishiwi Lake a few years ago.

Yep.  That's #150.

I wonder if the sitting log on the right side of the picture has been removed (or maybe it just the position is too far forward to catch it in the pic)?

Ha!  That was precisely my hesitation, too, until I matched up the far tree line AND the leaves on the birch on the lower right hand side of the pic... almost identical.

I might not bet the farm on this one BUT I'd lay a size-able chunk of it down on the table.

Later & thanks!
