This was what made me think of Kawishiwi Lake.

I know it probably isn't BWCA, but surely did remind me of that beach, and that view.

I looked at the file name. I think this one started with LLC- .. He should be back soon I expect.

It looks the same as the other lady-boot one to me albiet maybe from a different day/time or perspective.

DD,

Today's POD may well be the "north beach" at site #150.  It matches up pretty well with some shots I have of it from a slightly different angle.  Thoughts?

Jimbo   Cool

Yep.  That's #150.

I wonder if the sitting log on the right side of the picture has been removed (or maybe it just the position is too far forward to catch it in the pic)?

dd

Ha!  That was precisely my hesitation, too, until I matched up the far tree line AND the leaves on the birch on the lower right hand side of the pic... almost identical.

I might not bet the farm on this one BUT I'd lay a size-able chunk of it down on the table.

Later & thanks!

Jimbo   Cool

Hi folks.  I 'm back home.  Yes, today's POD is site 150 at the top of Lady Boot Bay.  Was able to stay here last week for 3 nights on my 2 week solo.  Good fishing!!

Jimbo -

I think today’s POD confirms this is not #150.  This pic seems to be a reverse angle shot.  The north beach at 150 is MUCH wider than this and does not have the exposed rock to the left in this shot.

None the less, it looks like a nice site.

dd

DD,

Agreed.  It is the reverse-angle shot, probably somewhere further north on LLC.

Jimbo   Cool

Nope.  This and the previous couple PODs is site 170 about 1/2 mile SW of the LLC pictos.  A great site with a sandy north side beach landing and a gravel beach landing on the south side.  Great wind protection and a great kitchen are/firepit and lots of tent space and hanging options.  Good fishing areas all around too.

PK,

You obviously suffer memory issues from the bite of rabid red squirrels.  Hallucinations are not uncommon.  Tell me, just how big was the picto of the red squirrel on the wall on LLC?  If I recall correctly, it is just to the right of the moose picto.  In fact, those two pictos probably go together... terrified moose running away from toothy, saliva-dripping, vicious squirrel.

Site #170, huh?  Was that a "safe place" for you?  A sanctuary from the terror?  Is that why it comes to mind?

Glad to have you back, PK!

Ya know, Jimbo, now that I recall there was not a squirrel to be seen on 170.  Heard them chattering away in the woods a few times.  Mice on the other hand loved to climb on top of my tent at night and use it as an amusement park slide back to the ground....

Today's POD is timed perfectly, given yesterday's discussion of PineKnot's "squirrel picto."

Notice he's keeping a safe distance from it.  Baaaaaad juju, that picto!  Frankly, I'm quite surprised he got even this close!

Jimbo  Cool

It's a safety factor in the event he is boarded by an armada of red squirrel pirates migrating towards his next campsite.

Highly calculated rod/ reel flotation device in case he is boarded and swamped by the squirrels?
