Jimbo  Cool

Vermillion Falls.

Jimbo, Wally13 and I arrived a bit early for our next day departure from Crane Lake this year and decided to take a few minutes to drive back down the road from Anderson's Outfitters and see the falls and walk a few of the short trails in the area.  Both the falls and the surrounding area were very nice.

It reminded me of the Aguasabon Gorge along Canada's highway 17 on the north shore of Superior.  We have stopped there several times.

But a beautiful place, even if it isn't in Quetico.  There are many beautiful places up north.  Now I think I would like to see Vermillion Falls.

Someday I will need to tell you guys the tale about the time the Mounties (& various other rescue teams) dredged the Aguasabon for my body and that of my nephew.  For what it's worth, they didn't find us.

Long story.

Also, a character by the name of Mr. Blinky figures in.  Do a QJ search and you may find reference to him...MANY years back.

Later,

Jimbo  Cool

Jimbo you're lucky you didn't make it to this point on the Aguasabon Shocked Cry

First you have the big drop then that long flush to Lake Superior. There's a hiking trail along the right  side where I met some young ladies at the overview coming from Rossport. About a 52km hike along the coast.
