Today’s POD is the top end of yesterday’s shot of Vermillion Falls.  Between the two shots is a narrow chute that enhances the sound effects of rushing/rumbling water.  I’d guess the overall vertical drop from top to bottom is over 20 feet.

If you look closely enough, you can just make out DD's head through the brush and tree branches on the right hand side of the picture.  I had just talked him out of taking a plunge into the pool below the gorge so he was sulking a bit.  He can be an overly-adventurous cuss, at times.

Where was Wally13 you might ask?  Well, I didn't get to him in time.  He was a soggy mess and rather busy crawling OUT of that gorge.  I might have included a pic of his climb further along in this sequence of POD's.  I don't recall, for certain.  He wanted to investigate possibilities for walleye fishing down in that hole.  Hey, he's a diehard walleye fisherman and he's certainly committed (or should be "committed")!

Is that a sword in a stone just a few yards in front of DD?

Well, there WAS such a sword in that stone.  If the truth be known, Wally13 fell in the water trying to extract it, later claiming he was really checking out the walleye hole.  DD's sulking actually had more to do with that sword, too.  Try as he might, despite his royal bloodline, he had no luck.  He's more like a Merlin, anyway.

As for me, well, let's just say folks won't have to be tempted by medieval artifacts embedded in Canadian Shield rock anymore. Friends "in the know" now refer to me as "your Majesty" or "King Jimbo" or, simply as "KJ."

Hey, little need for formality amongst friends (you peons!).

Carry on,

KJ

CAPTION FOR TODAY'S PIC:

"With great anticipation, Wally13 flirts with border treaties, risking an international incident in his never-ending quest for that ever-elusive 14 pound walleye."

ADDENDUM:

Wally13's hopes are quickly dashed, however, when he spots DentonDoc, paddling towards him from the OPPOSITE direction, sporting no fish on his stringer.  DD cagily deceives Mounties and   American border agents alike with his authentic rendition of "Oh, Canada!"  As a precaution, Wally13 and his loyal voyageur guide, stern paddler and man-servant, KJ, add their voices to the chorus.

Anybody recognize the shoreline?

Yeah yeah yeah.  Take your shot, Jimbo.

Is that Warrior Hill?  Living dangerously now, aren't you guys... " We're in Canada, sir?  Oops.  My buddy here is terminally ill...please have mercy".

PineKnot,

Bingo, you hoser!  Actually, Wally13 and his loyal man-servant, DID almost have to rescue a colleague who was paddling in circles and clearly delirious.  He eventually recovered on his own, however.  Probably tipping the old flask too much.

Hey, Wally13 & KJ were on a mission of mercy, eh?  Yeah, that's the ticket!
