One year my nephew set up his huge inflatable couch in there and took a nap!  I remember being a little concerned that PineKnot was going to try that, too.  Might not have worked out so good, him with that cigar and all, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, there is a surprising amount of space in the WallyWorld Bug House.

OK.  So that's why I wasn't invited to try out the inflatable couch....I thought maybe I smelled bad or something.....

I can attest to the great amount of space in the WallyWorld Bug House.  Unless you don't plan for heavy rains on Sturgeon Lake near the well-named "Spam Hole"....and forget to ensure proper roof drainage....in which case you'll wake up and have 200 gallons of water squashing everything under the tarp roof into the ground.  But hey, no leaks and we were able to save 10 pounds of bacon!!  True story....

Pineknot,

Oh yeah ... I remember that heavy wind and rain on Sturgeon.  “ SPAM HOLE” ... appropriately named.

Mike Peebles ... they don’t make that Bass Pro netting anymore. I don’t know what my Bug House Netting weighs ? Maybe 2 lbs ?

I like Denton Docs custom made pandemic  bug net for 2. I may have to work one up for my 2021 Mississippi River trip. ( DD ... my wife can put on the zippers for you as she is a seamstress and embroiderer.

I think we have an old screen house laying around someplace.  I'll have to check it out.  Thanks.

forgot to ask.....how fast did you guys have to drag the net to get the fish?  Betcha Magic would be good at that.

Mike ... just hang any bug net from the sides of your CCS tarp. ... 4 adjustable poles make it perfect ... if you want to carry. I usually bring it if I am going to basecamp with a group

Today's POD shows my standard camp set-up.  Whenever I look at this pic, my canoe-camping juices really start flowing.

How I wish I could plan a next trip!

Today's POD:

Jimbo -

I'm quite familiar with the tie out from the near corner to the foreground.  As I was puttering around the kitchen to the right of frame, I was making haste around to the left of frame with my hands full of stuff that obstructed my view of the ground when I found my foot entangled in the dang thing and flopped like a pancake.  My attempted save by grasping the back of my nearby light weight chair went for naught.  I remembered it was there from that point forward!

Wally13 -

Thanks for the most gracious offer.  Based on what I've had to deal with up to this point, I believe installing the zipper will be comparatively straight forward.  Had she come along when I was ripping out the same 282 inch splice seam for the second time (which was loose netting to loose netting), I'd taken you up on your offer in a minute. Cheesy Embarrassed Undecided

DOH! The titles should be correct from here on Jimbo. Wink

I don't know what's worse, tripping on cordage or walking into a cord you don't notice. Especially if you didn't put it there and it's someone else's stuff you could be ripping.

Anyway, the cordage on the last tent I bought was orange plus it had a reflective strand that made it easy to locate the tent after dark. I don't know how easy that is to find but if I were to replace cordage, it's certainly something I'd look for.

How big is that hammock tarp Jimbo?
From the pic it looks just big enough to cover your hammock with not much room to spare?

Reason I ask is I bought one of these for car camping and couldn't believe how lightweight it is for the area it covers. Even comes with a nice carry bag.

I hate my Noah's Tarp.  I have the 16" and I hate the cut.  Very unforgiving tarp in the wilderness.  In the backyard or the state park?  Sure.  In the wilderness? No.  Maybe the 12" is more manageable.

I have the 12" and use it to cover a screen house I put over a state picnic table when car camping.

It's seen some heavy wind/rain and did okay but I could see how a 16' would be a handful on a canoe trip.
