While offering a fantastic view, I consider the site "over-used" and somewhat of a dust bowl (at least on top)...the price of popularity. Jimbo Agree that most sites are well used in Snow Bay. The best one is to the south on/near the peninsula but I've never found it open. When I went thru Snow Bay in July, every site was occupied and I ended up to the south on Sandbar Island...pretty decent site facing west and could see Zup's Island....

	Zski, If I'm not mistaken, that was one of DD's food lockers. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't recall him ever saying, "batter up!" My own food locker was a 30 liter be blue barrel I carry inside of that yellow CCSpack, shown lying beside the fire pit. No baseballs in there, either. Jimbo

The Academy Sports 5 gal. bucket (with gamma seal lid) housed all of my kitchen items ... stove, fuel canisters, pots, pans, utensils, wash buckets, etc. The flat lid is useful as an extra seat or an elevated place to set foot prep items off the ground. All of my food items would be in one of two medium sized Vittles Vault containers (also with gamma lids) and are likely stored in the green Granite Gear pack near center frame. All liquids are stored in smaller Vittles Vault containers to localize spills if they occur. My water bladder is hanging from the tree above my pack, but the gravity filter is stored at this point, which has a "quick connect" attachment. Of course my lounging chair and the corner of a small fold-up table are shown toward the left of frame and my orange Marmot 2-person tent is beyond that. My string hammock is showing beyond my tent (and just above my green chair), and you can see straps used to hang my gear pack on the larger pine to the right in front of my tent. dd

It was a scenic spot for my hammock but ill-chosen. Fortunately, there was a beautiful sandy beach a short paddle distance away where we could cool off in that torrid heat. Believe me, we hallucinated about cold beer every afternoon and evening that week! Jimbo As soon as I saw the POD, I thought Jimbo is breaking one of the rules he learned the hardway. I love those high look-out campsites but fear them too.

If you go to the PODs and scroll back to the "Chateau Jimbo" pic, you will see my two Vittles Vaults behind my blue aluminum breakdown table and under the campsite "table top" that was crafted by previous visitors. dd

	Today's POD is taken from the tabletop of Site #13 looking east and down the hill towards the canoe landing (which would be to the left). Conditions became so crowded in Snow Bay towards the end of our hot stay there that multiple parties passed inquiring, "Hey, when are you guys leaving?" Some wandered around just below our camp, ostensibly "checking the place out"! The morning we paddled the short distance over to the pickup point (across from Site #9), there were at least 3 parties eager and watching to claim our newly-vacated camp! Oppressive heat and Snow Bay crowding (due to shuttle access being restricted on LLC last year) fomented contentious canoe-camping behaviors. Jimbo

You're blowing my "cover story!" You gotta remember that paddlers were drinking LOTS of water out of LLC to stay hydrated during the heat wave. Admittedly, there were certain "fire prevention" benefits regarding dousing the local flora. As they say, any port in a heat storm/heat wave. Later, Jimbo
