Good luck on your knee.  Well, actually, that is silly--you don't need "luck", you need a really good surgeon and excellent physical therapy, which you DO regularly!   Smiley Smiley

My first knee was done in 2013, and had a patella "adjustment" in 2015.  It is a good knee, but not 100%.  Probably about 90-95% pain free and nice and flexible.  My second knee was done in 2016, I think.  It is amazing!  I cannot tell it from a real knee--no pain, no problems with any movement.  I wish that surgeon had done the first one.   Sad

So I won't say "good luck", I'll just send my best wishes and my prayer that it will all go wonderfully.

Wishing you well on your new knee MB!  I find it amazing what they can do to keep us going.

MB,

You can do a 2021 trip. I had my tight knee replaced in Chicago Feb 6th and my left one done March 19th. I had a great surgeon and I had an aggressive PT program at a rehab center and at home.

I did a 2 week trip in LLC with Denton Doc and Jimbo over the 4th of July. Of course it was a no portage trip. But I felt good and was able to fish 6-8 hours a day and do camp chores.  I had to watch myself on rocks  as my doc said ... please do not fall on those new knees.

Good Luck.

Mossback,

LOTS of banged-up, bandaged-up, re-tooled old warhorses on QJ to inspire you!  You'll do fine, especially if you keep up with the therapy you'll be assigned.

Wilderness reward is great motivation.  Got me through double-level back fusion and a full hip replacement.

I wish you a speedy recovery and better-than-new results!

Today's POD:  Hmmm... a little "deja-view", I guess.  I didn't realize I submitted two pics of virtually the same shot.  Also, it doesn't exactly look like "sunset", per the caption.   Could be I scrambled up what got sent to db, somehow.  Oh, well.  Anyway, the boys are back up on the higher rocks and I am, yet again, in Yellow Jacket territory.  Hopefully I manage to evade those little buggers this second time around....

Later,

Thanks to everyone for the knee well wishes.   This is not my first rodeo, there have been several previous ortho events, starting in the mid 1970's.   Yes, continuing travels "Up North" does figure heavily in what keeps me healthy.  MB

Me thinks that Wally13 would fish 6-8 hrs/day with an arm amputated the previous day Roll Eyes.  Someone might have to paddle him around though.

"Old war horses" is a very accurate description!

MB - all the best wishes and a strong recovery on the knee replacement.  Gotta love modern medicine for extending the game!

pd

BTW - Chair lovers out there should compare the Helinox chairs to Big Agnes'.  Model for model, the BA chairs are lighter, stronger and have higher seat heights.  The Big Six seat is 20" compared to the Sunset's 14" height - huge difference.  Weight is nearly identical.  My Skyline UL has a 15" seat FWIW.  For comparison, my kitchen chairs have a 17.5" seat.
