DD,

You may recall that was precisely the "excuse" he used a little later during Happy Hour at the Voyagaire Lodge.

Hmmm.  I seem to remember the Happy "Hour" beginning a wee bit earlier.  I do have the distinct recollection of buying a couple of rounds before we ever got to the Voyagaire at another fine establishment, somewhat distant, facing out onto a lake.  It was a fine nectar indeed of which we all partook as we sat slaking our thirst and cast an eye on waters yet to be paddled.  Aye, ladie.  The adventure lies just beyond the horizon with the approach of the 'morrow's rising sun!

DD,

I believe that first stop was "Nelson's Resort"; we were their ONLY customers.  Couldn't remember the name of the place, yesterday, so I just mentioned the establishment where Wally13 got his last quart(s).

Nelson's was a pretty OK place but it's hard to beat the venue at the Voyagaire late in the afternoon on a sunny day.  I hit that same spot on my 2nd trip with my two youthful companions on a similar-type day just a few weeks later.  Good memories, both.

mpeebles,

Very nice POD today!  Offers us a classier ambiance as compared to Wally13's rectal thermometer shot yesterday.

Jimbo   Cool

Unfortunately, it was not during a canoeing trip.  I was just a camping trip Mary and I took (one of many this year) in Northern WI.  This was taken from our campsite on Starret Lake in Vilas Co.  BTW, this is a "quiet campground" and was quite pleasant.  We did quite a bit of hiking and biking up in that area this year....and a little canoeing.

Stay well friends....

Beautiful fall reflection shots are always such a joy to see.  I have never seen really spectacular fall colors up in the canoe country, but one time I did a photography workshop in the U P of Michigan, and the colors around the Porcupine Mountains were spectacular.

When I did my calendar this year for family and friends, this was the shot for October.

I found the piece of rod laying on the ground.  The spot was a well used portage take out /put in.  Someone obviously broke it off loading/unloading.

I remember offering it to Jimbo as spare parts.  I think we were all laughing at his reply.

Today's POD is of a colorful mushroom nestled in some moss that I saw while hiking around.
