Future portage monkey helping make pancakes at the cabin. An essential skill he will need when he cooks for me on canoe trips!

Mike,  I hope you have better luck than I have had.  Over the years I have started the grooming process for several Portage Monkeys, but I am only seeing about a 50/50 success rate.  Always some nonsense about friends, other interests, marriage, jobs, etc. always getting in the way.

I have high hopes for a Great Nephew this coming summer.  At age seven he has shown the ability to sit with a fishing pole in-hand for hours without complaint.  His fire poking skills are also exceptional (supervised).  He asks his Father every day ....When are we going to that "UP North" place.

Good Luck to all of us.

I disagree.  After all, what's more fun than a barrel of portage monkeys?

I love the grandchild photos!  (But then I love BEING Grandma, too.)

If db gets really desperate, I can provide a plethora of photos of Anna in the canoe country, from age 4-16.  A few of grandson Robert, also.   Cheesy Cheesy

See, I wasn't lying about the bike starting to look like the canoe. Still gotta mount the depth finder and rod holders  Wink

Grin Grin  You took the thoughts right outta my head when I saw your POD today...all you need is a long bridge over a secluded lake, throw out the lure on your 8-foot rod....and pedal....  Grin Grin
