Five teens......you must have the patience of Job!

Stay safe.....getting closer.

Thx for the comment, mpeebles.  Patience may be the result of the extra libation I sneak into my pack for teen trips...  Wink  Grin

Today's POD of the Whitetail Deer reminds me of how you don't see many deer in the park or at least not as many as you would think should be there.

I've seen maybe a dozen deer in all my trips. I asked Quetico Dave who hunts both deer and moose why so few deer at least where I've been.

He told me that when they first started logging around the park edges off Hyw 17, the deer hunting was great. The deer flocked there because of all the new growth which made for easier pickings come winter.

Then he said the wolves followed them and now the deer hunting is terrible. He said he didn't see ONE deer all hunting season the last couple of years.
Plenty of moose though.

Today's POD is a glacial erratic, one of a number such features appearing on shore on LLC.  Many of these structures would be larger than a single car garage.

Pleasant setting.  I like the big erratics....I always wonder why here?
PK.  I've been on a few canoe trips with teens.  We were on a four hour time difference inasmuch as I'd be "trying" to sleep four hours before they'd go to bed and visa versa in the morning.  Actually they were great trips.  I don't drink but I almost made a run on my son's scotch stash!  Funny stuff and great memories Smiley

Today's POD is one of my favorite sights coming southward from Agnes into Nina Moose.  As you enter Nina Moose, these erratics are to your left near a decent campsite (notice a canoe in the photo).  We ended up a couple hundred yards further and found a nice peninsula campsite also on the left for our last night.

I'd like to someday own or build a house in a rural area and import a large erratic for the front yard.  Smiley

Today's POD shows the teen crew on Oyster Lake relaxing on a large granite ledge angling into water that was around 90-feet deep a short cast from shore.  The next morning (July 3, 2007) I fished for a bit at sunrise while the boys slept in before our move to Nina Moose.  This was a nice south-facing campsite on the Oyster peninsula....the granite ledge was just to the right in this photo....

That's a nice site! I've never been into Oyster (or at least not yet Smiley. Looks like you have a couple of tents parked in there with a decent, easy canoe landing to boot.

We actually fit 3 tents in here (Site 1782, 4 stars).  There's two additional 5-star sites, one just northeast (1773) and one across the lake due east (1774).  Both were taken, but we liked 1782 as well.
