A 30-day extension of the US/Canada Border closure was announced today.

Looks like much of May is now a "no-go" for Quetico trips.

Got a call from the RABC office last week. Told them to keep my application and process it when the border opened. He didn't sound very hopeful.

Failed to secure border permit but did manage to pick up border collie.

Solus......Congrats on the new addition!  My "puppy" passed last year and I'm thinking about another companion.....border collie is on the list.  They're a perfect size and smarter than I am so it could keep me out of trouble.  Now....how to harness all that energy  Wink

Stay safe......

Nice pup Solus!  His name is very conservation minded!  TomT can give you plenty of advice on canoe dogs.  He's got one of the best I've ever seen..

On RABC's, mine must've been in the last few batches they worked, as you'd mailed yours just two days after I did, IIRC.  HND - did you end up mailing yours in too?

Aldo!  That's cool.  As for my dog - I've told others that I didn't have a whole lot to do with how well she does in canoe country.  I got really lucky is all.  I'm sure the first couple years will be a challenge but I know you're up to the right way of doing things.  And this is a very intelligent breed so with maturity you will have one fine companion there. Good choice.

Whenever I take Luna into Ely the first thing we do is play frisbee in the park.  The "Chuck it" brand of soft frisbee holds up real well and it's easy on the dogs mouth.  It's a fun thing to do and these dogs love it!

For the heck of it here's a video I shot in 2014.  Luna was 3 years old and check her out playing frisbee.  You can skip her swimming in the river by going to 1:45.  You might want to turn the sound down, I put on a pretty raucous soundtrack.

TomT,

I like how Luna keeps turning her head to make sure she's taking YOU for a play session!  Wink Grin Grin
