We're heading over to Rutabaga for a test paddle today. Denise and I are close to pulling the trigger on a new canoe  Smiley Smiley

It's been interesting talking to the folks at Rutabaga. Sounds like boats are flying off the shelves! With the pandemic, people are flocking to outdoor activities.

And they consider themselves lucky, in a way, that 'Copia was cancelled. It left their warehouse packed with boats, so they've been able to keep up with demand for now. Manufacturers were shut down for a couple of months, so inventory is hard to come by. They told me if I wanted to order something specific they didn't have on hand, we likely wouldn't be able to get it for this paddling season.

Anyway, I though I'd just let you all know that Darren and company have weathered the storm reasonably well so far!!

Oh, and we're going to paddle a Wenonah Boundary Waters. It's very wide and stable--not the fastest boat, but we want the stability to hopefully get our year-old dog to be able to join us on the water!!

Hey MuleLars.  Hoping all is well.  I have a 16' Boundary Waters and it is indeed stable and carry a lot of "stuff".  I paddle it both solo and tandem. Like you said, not the fastest thing on two wheels but I like it.....and I can still carry it!

Stay safe........

Do they sell Nova Crafts? I am still tentatively in the market for one. If I could justify a road trip to my family, i"d head down there and paddle a few Wisconsin rivers with it on the way back! Wink

HnD- Hope all is well with you!!

They do sell Nova Crafts. But call first-their stock is flying off the shelves.

They're on the river, so you can test paddle right there. But you have to have an appointment for a test paddle. It's been super busy.

ML, good to hear that you and Rutabaga are staying afloat! Hopefully, there will be a Copia next year.
