Portage Dog,
I said that I hadn't looked it up lately as to which had hair.    Now I know that new born hares have hair.  Thanks for the clarification/correction.

No big hare-y deal Westwood!  Cheesy  I find it more interesting that they are born with their eyes open are ready to roll.  Mother Nature's way of tipping the survival odds in their favor.

I've seen this view down Quetico Lake many times.
Still gets me primed at the start of a trip.

I wonder if we will ever see it again.  Undecided

I think we will, the real issue will be if I'm still able to paddle down the lake before that happens?

Depends on whether it is 6:00AM trying to get out of bed, or later in the day after the kinks are shook out?

I'll be 73 come next spring. In good shape now but I don't take ANYTHING for granted healthwise.

Working out 5-6 times a week, I have a big trip planned WHEN we get back into Canada assuming that 25% I can't control doesn't rear its ugly head.  Wink Grin Grin

Look at DD. Makes it thru Vietnam. Gone on numerous backpacking/paddling trips and a damn spot of ice ALMOST did him in.

On the bright side, I think that 2 yr lull will give some of the campsites in the Q a chance to recover from overuse or at least I hope so?

It is not going to hurt the fishing any, either!
