Thank you.  I haven’t seen it in many years—brought back memories.  She was five at the time.  She is 18 now and is a sophomore in college.  We are going to Indiana to visit her this weekend and see her apartment in Indianapolis.  She still goes to the Gunflint with us each summer and we are still making memories.

A blessing.

Today's POD... approaching the portage into Quetico Lake from Beaverhouse???  Probably not but it certainly looks familiar.

I thought the same thing at first glance Jimbo.
If it is that spot, don't underestimate the power of that outflow if you decide to paddle up that swift.

More than a few paddlers have dumped there.

ST, I think you got it right.

You can sort of see this photographer's progression down Quetico Lake, beginning from the BH side of the portage in.  A following one appears to be the other side of that same portage.  Some of his later pics do appear to be a little further down the lake.

These POD's are giving me a good dose of "planning fever."  I not sure I ever appreciated how good I had it when I lived "just down the road" from the park.  Seems like a whole 'nother planet from the gator swamps I am now surrounded by....

I think it's safe to say the farther you have to travel to get to the park the more you "envy" the people who live just a few hours away.  Wink

Of course when it's -20 degrees plus you think a little bit different unless you're a big cold weather person.  Wink Grin Grin
