Today's fuzzy-looking POD is a pic of IC's tarp/tent and Pink Flamingo.

Re: today's POD, ST... I presume you are carrying a tandem which you flipped around to paddle as a solo?

BTW, nice pic of IC in the above post.  Is that a Cirrus Lake campsite?  Looks a good bit like the one that DentonDoc & I nearly got blasted off of a few years back by a monster sudden storm (2Z on PaddlePlanner).  I could easily be wrong about it but 2Z had a very nice fire pit, much like the one in your pic.

Your 1 out of 2 Jimbo. That is a tandem set-up to paddle solo. The bundle in front of me is my PFD wrapped around a thwart to balance out the load.

It carries just a little bow high but for the pic, I tilted it back so you could see my ugly mug.  Wink Grin Grin

The pic of IC is at that no-name bay just northwest of the tip of Eden Island. That firepit is the most elaborate I've ever seen. I think the Native People use it to smoke Red Suckers they net in the spring from the spill-out?

You line up a riffle and you're in the bay that holds the 2 portages into Cirrus Lake.

It's the only campsite on the bay. On the north shore about midway down. The western portage is along that spill-out which I've walked but never used. You want to fish that spill-out.

On the far east end, you have that flat/short portage into Cirrus. If you hate portages or have a physical issue, taking the short portage from BH into Quetico Lake and then paddling down to that short flat portage is the way to go.

I think both together are not much more than a 100yds give or take.

Nice POD today  Smiley

Jean Lake is a great fishing lake. On the south shoreline, there are some underwater springs.

If you hit one even in warm weather with a shallow diving lure, you can pick up a nice LT like that one.

Not very many campsites on a lake that size keeps it from being overused.
