Yes, he did, Neal.  I smiled when I saw this POD.  So often I click onto the POD very early in the morning, as I did today, hoping to see a lovely canoe country photo that will transport me in my mind up north and make me wish to be in that very spot at that time.

Not so today.   Tongue  Not being a fisherman (fisherwoman?  fisherperson?), I can honestly say I was happier being in my little office nook by the fire this morning.   Smiley

The portage in today's POD looks like a real ankle breaker!

Unusual, neat shot for today's POD!  These type pics are not normally my favorites but for some reason I find this one mesmerizing.

Of course, I suppose it could also mean I've been cooped up in Florida too long.  I NEED to go north.

I really DO like today's POD... a late September shot, I'm sure.

Starwatcher has a good eye for this type of POD.  Another eye-catching POD today!

That must have been a really colorful September.

Thanks Jimbo and everyone.  Sorry to be absent from QJ for some time; I guess I've been hibernating and Spartan2 woke me up.  I can understand you thinking September with the maple leaves but we mostly go canoeing in early October and I believe these these photos were taken from our trip to Argo.  I think the photo on the lake was a shot taken on Roland Lake where we could barely find the portage trail.  On the way back we took the 160 rod portage on the south end of Argo.  Anyone here ever take that portage that has a rock wall mid-portage?

I wonder what that area looks like after the forest fires?  Argo is such a beautiful, clear lake.
