Today's POD brings back many memories. I've been down/up Jean Creek many times. Those Beaver Dams might be a pain sometimes, but in low water times, they are a Godsend until you get to the last stretch into Sturgeon Lk.

They don’t look very lonely to me. Grin The hole by that rock has produced some nice waldos for me. Cool

Today's POD reminds me that if you like to fish just for the sheer fun of catching them one after another, you should fish the spot where Lonely Creek empties in Sturgeon Lk.

You probably won't catch any 5# smallies plus, but when you hit that spot/hole right where the creek dumps in, you can catch 2-3# smallies as fast as you can cast and reel them in.

Just a lot of fun in a short period of time. Smiley

It does actually.  Just toss it in the air toward the canoe....by the time it lands, it'll fit just right!!   Cheesy Cheesy

Today's POD reminded me why I like going early in the season or in Sept.

I was putting in at BH one year and there was a group this size there as well. They were going into Quetico lake to basecamp.

I hurried to get ahead of them. They had packs strewn all over the put-in area. When I brought my packs down, I stood them back to back and used a rope to tie them together.

When I brought the canoe down, one of the adults in the group commented about me tying my packs together?

I said look around? Half the paddlers have green/black canoe packs. Wouldn't matter if your group got the wrong pack, but it would ruin my trip if you got one of mine  Wink Grin
