Agreed but, it's hard for me to get past that sawed-off trunk. Arrrgh. Life finds it's own way, I guess.

Yes, that's unfortunate, agreed, but it does tell a useful story, doesn't it?

Also, the horizon is not exactly "level", is it?  Still, I love this picture, hacked off trunk & all.  Wish I was there at this very moment.

Another great late season pic!

Same tree (with sawed-off trunk) from different angle.

I miss those colors.  We don't see much of them down here in the Florida jungle lands.  Guess I'll need to work in another Fall canoe trip up north some year soon.

That's a nice camp spot. From today's picture it doesn't appear people have been cutting live trees for firewood.

I could see why someone might cut off a branch other than for firewood. I've cut off branches that were broken down from snow/ice and where just tripping hazards. Maybe something like that is why someone trimmed it off ?

I agree.  Could easily have been helpful pruning of a dead limb.

You're right, that IS a nice camp spot.

Looks kinda like a site on North shore of Walter L. It’s a nice seldom used site. Cool

Due to some technical issues I've been off line for a bit.  Started catching up on the PODs.  Great stuff everyone!  Thanks for sharing!
