On the other hand, that stuff kept your campsite mosquito-free during your entire stay, so there was a bright side.  I, myself, had a couple helpings and didn't get bit for the balance of the trip.

I recall we issued a similar warning, years ago, for yet another environmental catastrophe - a Belgian birch bark beetle infestation {with the subsequent government overuse of pesticides to contain the outbreak} - over on Jean Lake.  Almost as deadly as that pink stew.  Here is some QJ commentary on the subject from back in the day:  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)  Similar situations, in many ways....

So sad and so suspicious, as both lakes were such fine fisheries PRIOR to the disasters.  Best to avoid those areas now and allow the contaminated, sterile, mutant survivor fish to simply die off.
