  I thought the same thing db.
  I like to keep my gear below the gunnels but those guy's apparently don't think that way.
   Maybe the 3rd canoe was traveling light and that canoe was the freight one?

  When I was coming out of my FUBAR trip at BH I talked about some guys using carts to bring in huge coolers and camping gear. They were base-camping on BH and said they had done this trip for awhile.
They were all big guy's. They had 3 canoes and they were loaded even more than this pic.

  Literally only inches from water coming in. I travel light compared to some people.  Wink Grin

The POD today was a shock for me.  A real trip down memory lane!  Our granddaughter is now 20 years old, a senior in college, and she is still going to the canoe country with us; in fact, we will be leaving on June 28th, heading north for our annual "cabin week" on the Gunflint Trail.  She has always loved photography and her skills have developed since the times of this POD photo when she was only 7.

Her first trip to northern Minnesota was at the age of 4.  Attached photo is her first fish.  She loves to be there almost as much as we do.   Smiley

Funny thing, those pancakes.  It was our “Celebration Trip”, the first trip after Spartan1’s kidney transplant.  2009. We went during the first week of September.  We always have pancakes for a breakfast or two, and I had mentioned blueberries, but my husband said, “There won’t be any blueberries in September!  It is too late.”

He was wrong.  Just another reason for celebration!
