I couldn't find CCBB today.  Did it go away or is my tech mojo just fading?

Patience is a virtue and and some days I miss my old 28.8 modem.

What I truly miss is the old CCBB Listserv.

That was bbbbefore all the women were strong, all the men were good-looking, and all the children were all above average.

Such is life. Go figure.

Is it still true that website removes any and all references to material on the QuietJourney website?

When I learned they had implemented that policy, I stopped going there.  That was many years ago now.  Perhaps, IF they have changed such censorship practices, I might reconsider my choice.

I went to their get-together on my first CanoeCopia visit way back when (QJ didn't do that back then).  Those folks didn't have horns on their heads or anything.  They seemed OK.  Not sure why they implemented Gestapo stuff when they did a few years later but it rubbed me the wrong way when they did.

I always kind of liked "Miracle on 34th Street" where the Gimbel's store Santa Claus sends their customers over to Macy's to find a toy when they don't have it in stock.  Hmmm...might have been Macy's sending them to Gimbel's but you get the idea.  I guess I resent a non-cooperative spirit.  Not sure what they were afraid of.

CCBB seems to have returned to my phone.

I was not aware CCBB censored other sites.  I fo believe bwca.com censors links and references to a number of sites, Paddle Planner  and Quetico Superior Wilderness News, if not also CCBB and QJ.  And oddly I've  never seen Canoetripping.net and Paddling.net mentioned at bwca.com.

IMHO such censorship on a bulletin board is silly and harms mire than helps.

I have mentioned QJ numerous times on BWCA.com and not been censored.  Cannot speak to whether it was sharing information from here or just mentioned in passing, but I do know that they censor some references to places of business that are not sponsors of the site.

I am very active on BWCA.com (probably makes sense because about 75% of our canoe trips in our history were BWCA trips) but it is no secret that I hang out here, too.

I tried CCBB many years ago and so did Spartan1.  He liked it better than I.  Not quite remembering why I lost interest, but it may just be that keeping up with 3 boards was a lot.  For one thing, seems to me I remember it was more difficult just to sign in there.

Could be I got my websites mixed up.  It's been such a looooong time since I've visited any park-related discussion forum other than QJ's.

I do recall receiving multiple notes from other QJer's that all their references to this website were being systematically erased from whichever other website was involved.  I also recall checking that allegation out for myself at the time and concluding they were correct.  I just can't remember all the particulars but at least one instance involved a reference to a specific story posted to the QJ Stories page.

Quite likely the practice has ended; I simply wouldn't know... which I why I was asking.

Later,

I haven't been able to log onto that site for more than a year. I'm not sure if it's my browser or just the listserve not recognizing my username. I can't even reset my password, so I gave up on it.

CCBB changed hosts. Is now on Tapatalk.  I do fine with free version.  The fact is CCBB has been VERY quiet.  No new posts for nearly a month.

Oh crap, I did remove the easy "search the neighborhood" link from the Inuk lede a while back. Is that what this is about? Google said we're not supporting it anymore probably a few years back so I finally dumped it.

So sorry. My bad. Do your own math on that.
