HOWDEE FOLKS!  Just popped in for a sec to say hey.  I miss the Q and I miss the QJ interaction.  Nobody's fault but my own.  Just a very busy place theses days in KY.  I'm going to start popping in here more and more.  Hoping to catch up on reading and old friend.
Take care and God Bless you all.

A blast from the past, good to see you again.
Did a double take, had to make sure it wasn't someone with a similar handle.

It's been a loooong time since I was in Quetico.  2007 I believe was my last trip.  Life gets busy then we get old.

Welcome back, QP!  That 2007 trip... was that the one when you established a Message Cache on Draper?  Or, was that a Jimboree trip with me in the stern?  Either way, I miss your cigar smoke on the portage trails.  It served 2 purposes: 1) it kept me advised of your location, and 2) kept the skeeters off me!

Just exited the park myself... the hard way.  Had to get airlifted out!  More on that, later.  In the meanwhile, ST, remember those "portage boots" we both researched & chatted about?  Word to the wise: DO NOT BUY THEM!  As I said, more later. I'm at the hospital just now waiting on results from my X-rays. [Nice teaser line, right?]

There are a LOT of walking wounded hanging around QJ these days. Or, as in my case, non-walking wounded.

QP, I hope to see more of you here.  Might also be interested in what you carry along the lines of walleye Jigs.

Later,

Jimbo  Cool

Fishing business  is booming.  Going full time in it in Jan.   Two more e pos this year and I'm done till Jan 24. 14 shows on the roster for next year.  Huntsville in 2 weeks Pigeon Forge  in August
I've tied somewhere around 25k crappie jigs this year so far.

Message cache trip was in 04 with my son.  Hard to believe it will be 19 years in August.  I doubt I'll be doing another q trip.  Unless I hire a couple guys to pack the gear.  Had 3 Disc fused in my neck a few years ago.  That changed a lot of what I can or cannot do.  I will be in your area for a show in 2025.  Orlando area.  The bait business was the best move I ever made.  It's like playing at work.  Lol.

I hope it wasn't MY boot choice  Wink Grin
I just looked at the Atikokan weather report and figured you guys were getting rained on pretty good.

Only plus side was that maybe they'd lift the fire ban. Sounds like rain was the least of your problems  Shocked Cry

I think I was on that 07 trip.  Always regretted not going with you the day you went up to some Native Americans ritual grounds.
Glad to hear you are doing well

Glad to see you back here!  Oddly, I am too. Hopefully we have grown wiser with age.
