Beautiful photo today, but I would question the date.  Somehow I would expect Knife Lake to be iced in on April 20th.  But I wasn't in the Canoe Country in 2012 until late August, so can't say for sure.

It was our first fish of the trip immediately after we launched in Batchewaung. We thought the fish gods would be smiling that week but they were not. No more big pike.

This was on Lonely lake if I remember correctly. When we paddled over to the area where they were, the bottom was littered with dozens of clam shells. Two others didn’t get in the photo.
