Thanks for making the effort (and having the patience) to see this through.

I remember from my younger days when I was working on a program which was the center point of my master's thesis.  However, the application wasn't working correctly.  It took me 6 weeks of pouring over code (this was back in the punch card days) for me to find that I had omitted a comma in a list of arguments in a subroutine call.  The compiler ignored that the comma was missing and just assigned a zero toe the missing argument.

I got the perseverance award from my classmates for this one.  Doggedness sometimes has it rewards.
